Q: Hi :) The issue with age gaps (i.e 15 & 30) is age of consent. While it's nice to say "do what you want", young people should realize that the concerns of their family and friends about these relationships are legitimate. The authority of a 15 year old in a relationship is very different than a 30yo. Even if the older party is not taking advantage of the younger one, they are still in a vastly different life stage than the minor, which creates a power dynamic, even if they have good intentions.
